Summer Flowers

It is August and my garden is a riot of colour!  Sunflowers, asters, zinnias, Bachelor buttons, and cosmos to name a few.  These 8x10 “ sketches are a response to the visual excitement all around me.  Take a moment to do a value sketch before you begin painting.  It will help you plan your design and choose your colours.  To learn how to do a value sketch I recommend Ian Roberts You Tube videos:  short, informative and inspirational for the painter at any level.
